Industrial Auctions is a specialist online platform for auctioning food and beverage industry machinery, giving the equipment a sustainable second life. Each online auction is managed by the company’s own (assistant) project managers based at the headquarters in Eindhoven.

Last Saturday, STE Languages was present at the IamExpat Fair in Eindhoven. It was a pleasure to meet so many internationals, expats, and language enthusiasts, answer questions, and talk about learning Dutch and other languages.

STE Languages has joined the Brainport Partner Fund through the connecting power of language to contribute to a society where everyone can take part, be understood and feel at home. The scale-up and impactful growth of the Brainport Region calls for an inclusive and engaged society. Whoever speaks a common language feels at home, participates and removes barriers.

Helping newcomers get to work as quickly as possible while simultaneously enabling them to learn the language, that is the core of a new recommendation from the Social and Economic Council (SER). According to the SER, work, language, and involvement should go hand in hand from day one, allowing talents to be utilized sooner and helping people find their place in society more quickly.

We are pleased to share some exciting news with you. As of 3rd September, STE Languages ​​has joined forces with EBC Taleninstituut, Babel Taalcursussen, and Lexicon Trainingen. Together, we have formed a single nationwide group, backed by the full support of a family office that also recently acquired Schouten & Nelissen.

Almost 40% of 15-year-olds in the Netherlands struggle with reading. This is a worrying trend, because strong reading skills form the foundation for learning, working, and actively participating in society. Language proficiency opens doors: from understanding information and pursuing an education to finding employment and building self-confidence. That is why investing in language education is more important than ever.

Increasing numbers of international professionals with a background in engineering and science are building a future in the Brainport region. In doing so, some of them discover that their knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm can also be of great value in education. Within this programme, STE Languages provides the language training in the first phase. Participants work on their Dutch language skills in preparation for working in education and achieving the required B1 level for the follow-up programme. In this way, language forms an important link between international expertise and meaningful participation in Dutch education.

Good news for everyone learning or wanting to learn a language: new research (source: de Volkskrant – https://www.volkskrant.nl/cs-b5a10ae5/) shows that the part of the brain that processes language hardly ages. While functions such as memory and attention often decline over time, our ability to understand language remains remarkably strong. This demonstrates that language holds a special place in our brain.

We are very happy to welcome over 650 participants to our Open Enrolments in the coming weeks. With over 150 participants, the "Spreek Nederlands met mij" course is one of the favourites within the programme. In "Spreek Nederlands met mij", you get actively started with Dutch from the very first lesson: short conversations, practical situations, and lots of practice. This way, you work on your speaking skills in a relaxed atmosphere using practical topics from daily life. Our motto: Dare to speak. Learn by doing.
