Increasing numbers of international professionals with a background in engineering and science are building a future in the Brainport region. In doing so, some of them discover that their knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm can also be of great value in education.

With Internationals voor de klas, these professionals are guided step by step towards a role as a teacher or teaching assistant in secondary education. The focus is not only on subject-specific expertise, but also on language development, pedagogical training, and practical experience in a school.

Within this programme, STE Languages provides the language training in the first phase. Participants work on their Dutch language skills in preparation for working in education and achieving the required B1 level for the follow-up programme. In this way, language forms an important link between international expertise and meaningful participation in Dutch education.

Internationals voor de klas is a partnership between Brainport Development, ASML, Expat Spouses Initiative (ESI), ESoE (TU/e), Fontys, and Onderwijsregio Brabant-Oost, represented by Trion Opleidingsschool and AOS-Zuidoost-Brabant. The programme is made possible, in part, by ASML.
